Cleaning the Air Filter
-
- Maintain optimal airflow and system efficiency by regularly cleaning the air filter, which is crucial for the Chiller's performance.
-
Frequency:
-
- Clean the air filter every 30 days to ensure efficient airflow and prevent obstruction.
-
Steps:
-
Access the Air Filter:
-
- Locate the air filter compartment on the right-hand side of the Chiller.
- Find the recessed area on the right-hand side of the filter door. Gently pull here to release the magnetic connection.
- Carefully slide the filter door away from the Chiller. The door is designed with a tongue-and-groove mechanism, allowing it to slide into place and rotate towards the Chiller where it snaps in with magnets.
-
Remove the Air Filter:
-
- Gently slide the air filter out of the door.
-
Clean the Air Filter:
-
- Rinse the air filter under running water to remove dust and debris.
- If heavily soiled, gently use a soft brush or cloth to scrub it clean.
- Shake off excess water and inspect for any damage or wear.
-
Dry the Air Filter:
-
- Allow the air filter to air-dry completely in a well-ventilated area.
-
Reinstall the Air Filter:
-
- Slide the air filter back into the filter door, reversing the removal process.
-
Reattach the Filter Door:
-
- Align the door with the tongue-and-groove mechanism on the left side of the filter door, then rotate the door towards the Chiller to re-engage the magnetic connections on the right side.
Replacing the Air Filter
-
- Replacing the air filter is a crucial maintenance task that ensures the Chiller operates at peak efficiency. The filter should be replaced every 1 to 2 years depending on usage, or sooner if specific signs of wear or damage are observed.
-
Signs It's Time to Replace the Air Filter
- Visible Damage: Look for tears, holes, or frayed edges in the filter material.
- Persistent Dirt or Stains: If the filter remains discolored or soiled even after cleaning.
- Reduced Airflow: If the Chiller seems to be working harder to maintain temperatures or if airflow through the vents is noticeably lower.
- Odors: Unpleasant smells emanating from the filter even after cleaning can indicate mold or mildew buildup, which cannot be cleaned effectively.
-
Replacement Steps
-
Access the Air Filter:
- Locate the air filter compartment on the right-hand side of the Chiller.
- Find the recessed area on the right-hand side of the filter door. Gently pull here to release the magnetic connection.
- Carefully slide the filter door away from the Chiller. The door operates with a tongue-and-groove mechanism, allowing it to slide into place and rotate towards the Chiller where it snaps in with magnets.
-
Remove the Old Air Filter:
- Gently slide the old air filter out of the door.
-
Prepare the New Air Filter:
- Ensure the new air filter is the correct model and size for your Chiller.
- Remove any packaging from the new filter.
-
Install the New Air Filter:
- Slide the new air filter into the filter door, ensuring it fits securely and correctly.
-
Reattach the Filter Door:
- Align the door with the tongue-and-groove mechanism on the left side of the filter door, then rotate the door towards the Chiller to re-engage the magnetic connections on the right side.
-
Check Operation:
- Turn on the Chiller to ensure the new air filter is functioning correctly.
- Listen for any unusual sounds and check for proper airflow. If there are any discrepancies, recheck the filter installation.
