Preparation
- Enter Maintenance Mode. This can be done directly from the Chiller's settings menu or via the Ice Barrel App.
Water Shutoff
- Locate the quick-connect water valves on the top and bottom bulkheads of the Ice Barrel. Shut these valves to stop water flow before disconnecting any hoses.
Removing the Water Filter
- Position a towel or container below the filter housing to catch spills. Unscrew the bowl housing the water filter using the provided water filter wrench.
Cleaning or Replacing the Water Filter
- Remove the filter. If cleaning, rinse thoroughly and brush off debris. If replacing, dispose of the old filter and ensure the new one fits snugly. Note: Be careful not to lose the rubber O-ring that sits inside the filter bowl.
Reassembling the Filter Housing
- First, make sure that the rubber O-ring is properly seated inside the ring of the filter bowl. Reattach the bowl, ensuring a proper seal and no cross-threading.
- Use the provided water filter bowl wrench to tighten the filter bowl lining up the sticker with the quick connect fitting above as a visual reference.
Restoring Operations
- Open the bulkhead valve and exit Maintenance Mode.
-
Observation
- Please take a look at the filter housing area for any signs of water leaks. Depending on the current water temperature, you may need to switch the Chiller into cooling mode to start the pump, cycling water in order to check for leaks.
-
Manual Check
- If the leak persists, repeat the process of tightening the filter bowl and ensuring the O-ring is properly seated.
-
Reset Notification
- Reset the water filter maintenance notification to begin a new maintenance schedule.
