Unboxing and Accessory Setup:
-
- Upon receiving the Chiller in a box, you will unbox it and ensures all components are present.
- Inside the accessory box, you will find the owner's guide, which prompts you to download the Ice Barrel App.
- The owner's guide provides initial setup instructions and directs you to use the app for further guidance.
App Installation and Setup:
-
- Following the prompt in the owner's guide, you will download the Ice Barrel App from the app store.
- Once you go through the onboarding process of the app setup, you will need to click on the Chiller feature and then select Connect Chiller.
Placing the Chiller:
-
- When finding the perfect spot for the Chiller, ensure it's on level ground and within a 6-foot distance from the Ice Barrel to make the setup process easy. If the Chiller is positioned on uneven ground, you may receive a notification prompting you to adjust its location. This step is crucial for the proper functioning of the Chiller system.
Ice Barrel Preparation:

- Drain the Ice Barrel.
- For Ice Barrel 300 and 500: Locate the bulkhead on the side of the Ice Barrel, remove the top bulkhead plug, and the bottom water shut-off valve, ensuring that the bulkhead fittings stay tight.
- For Ice Barrel 400: Install the Conversion Kit following the provided instructions before attaching the Chiller accessories.(Conversion kit sold separately)
Install Shut-Off Valves:

- Please be cautious not to over-tighten any of the fittings, as excessive force may lead to damage. Note: All will need to have red tape applied to the threads before installing them.
- Find the Ice Barrel shut-off valves, elbow and elbow extension provided with the Chiller.
- Attach the elbow extension, then the elbow to the top bulkhead with the elbow facing downward, and then screw the shut-off valve into the elbow fitting.
- Screw the second shut-off valve into the bottom bulkhead, ensuring tightness with provided tools.
- Make sure that the shut off valves are closed and refill the Ice Barrel and check for leaks.
Removing Shipping Caps from Quick Connect Fittings:

- Remove the Top Quick Connect Cap
- Locate the quick connect fitting coming off the water filter on the back of the Chiller.
- Firmly pull the cap straight out to remove it.
- Remove the Bottom Quick Connect Cap
- Locate the bottom quick connect fitting on the bottom right side of the back of the Chiller.
- Firmly pull the cap straight out to remove it.
- Remove the Top Quick Connect Cap
Connect Quick Connect Hoses Properly:

- Locate the 6-foot quick connect hoses provided with the Chiller.
- Connect the top side of the barrel fitting to the top connection on the Chiller (filter location).
- Connect the bottom connection on the Ice Barrel to the bottom connection on the Chiller.
Open Water Valves:

- Open the top and bottom water valves on your Ice Barrel to allow water to flow into the Chiller system.
Power On Chiller:
-
- Connect the Chiller to a power source and ensure it is properly plugged in.
- The Chiller includes a GFCI module on the power cord for added safety. While the module is designed to withstand exposure to water, it should not be submerged. Place it in a location where it can remain above water, ensuring the Chiller operates safely and efficiently outdoors.
- Locate the soft power button on the back of the Chiller.
- Press and hold the button for three seconds.
- The power button will light up, indicating the Chiller is now powered on.
- Connect the Chiller to a power source and ensure it is properly plugged in.
Chiller Setup and Activation:

Step 1: Follow On-Screen Prompts
- Power on the Chiller and follow the on-screen prompts on the Chiller's UI.
- The UI will guide you through the basic functions and how to navigate using the control wheel.

Step 2: Assembly Tutorial (if needed)
- If you have not already connected the quick-connect fittings and hoses, the UI will offer an assembly tutorial.

Step 3: Download the App
- You will be prompted to download the Ice Barrel App if you haven't done so already.

Step 4: Connect to Wi-Fi
- The Chiller UI will guide you through the process of connecting to Wi-Fi.
- Use your phone's camera app to scan the QR code displayed on the Chiller's screen.
- If the camera app does not work, you can manually enter the SSID code into the app.
- Scanning the QR code will automatically take you to the Chiller setup process within the app.
- If not, open the app, choose the Chiller feature, and click "Connect." Follow the prompts to reach the page where you enter the SSID.

Step 5: Provisioning Process
- Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter your Wi-Fi password.
- Follow the prompts to join the Chiller’s Wi-Fi network when prompted.
- Once the provisioning process is completed, the Chiller will go to the Home UI screen, and the app will display a completed icon.

Step 6: Final Setup Steps
- The app will prompt you to provide information about the specific Ice Barrel connected to the Chiller.
- Indicate whether the Chiller is placed indoors or outdoors.
- Choose a name for your Chiller for easy identification within the app, especially if you have multiple Chillers.
- The Chiller may perform an automatic software update, which can take up to five minutes.

Step 7: Set Up Your Schedule
- Once the software update is complete, the Chiller will be ready for scheduling.
- Set up a basic schedule from the Chiller’s UI.
- For advanced scheduling options, use the app to customize and control your Chiller's schedule.(Coming Soon)
